FUN RUN CRUISE

Postby steve67 on Tue Oct 09, 2007 12:46 am

Fellow GTO Members:

Pete Muro and I just put 146 miles on his car to plan our FUN RUN. Information follows:

We are meeting at 9:00 A.M. on Saturday October 13, 2007 at the Eat n’ Park on Rte 30 in Irwin (same place as last year) (if you want to eat breakfast be there earlier). The Eat n’ Park is near the turnpike exit for Irwin and Rte 30. Leaving Eat n’ Park we will make a left onto Rte 30, pass under the turnpike to the red light. At the red light make a RIGHT onto Arona Road (BP Station), we will follow this road for 7 miles or so, crossing over Rte 136, continue through a stop sign and a blinking light. There is a little road construction further up the road and here you will see signs for Connellsville. Take this exit, go ¼ mile and turn LEFT again to 66 South. Stay on 66 South (turns into 119 South) and get off at the Mt. Pleasant exit to Rte 31. Turn LEFT onto Rte 31 East. Go through the town of Mt. Pleasant and keep going. You will pass the Donegal Interchange on the PA Turnpike. A few miles past this exit you will start going down a hill. At the bottom of the hill turn RIGHT onto Rte 711 South (Sarnelle’s Market). Follow the signs to Seven Springs. For those of you who went with us last year – this is the same route we used then. We have to be at Seven Springs and have the cars parked by 10:30. Another car club of Joe Barber’s will be there also.Joe Barber will be leaving from the Kings in Cranbury on rt. 19 at 8:30 am.He will be going straight to Seven Springs. So if you live near there you can go with Joe.

It is my understanding that the driver can eat for free and $15.00 for your wife or guest. As many of you already know, the Buffet is excellent.

**********You can meet us at Eat n’ Park, pick us up along the way ,go with Joe from Kings or just meet us at Seven Springs, but please let me know if you are planning to come – please call me (412-373-0334) or email gtota1@comcast.net.

At 2:00 we will leave Seven Springs and head for Stone Villa Wine Cellars in Acme, PA. It is simple to get to. We need to backtrack on Rte 31 heading West, we will pass Donegal exit and a few miles down the road we will turn right on Clay Pike. The sign is hard to see so look for Leeper’s Country Market and Brady’s Restaurant (between these two and across from them is Clay Pike). Turn RIGHT onto Clay Pike and a few miles down the road is Stone Villa. We will park on grass. The place is beautiful and there is a Fall Fest going on - the admission is $5.00. Music by Mark Weakland Quartet, prizes and of course some wine tasting. To enjoy the picnic area, you must purchase a bottle of wine, which we will get a coupon for. We can then enjoy the wine sitting under large tents around a huge pond. A local church will also be selling food, for more information go to www.stonevilla.com. Stay as long as you like or leave whenever you care to, the cruise ends here. The rain date is Oct. 20th.However, we will not have assigned parking at Seven Springs. We would have to find a group of parking spots as we did last year. We can still go to Stonevilla but the Fall Fest will be over. No food and you will still have buy a bottle of wine if you want to enjoy the tent area and the pond.

My cell phone is 412-327-2095 in case some one gets lost or separated.

Again, please let me know if you are planning to attend.
